Dear Sky Ranch Residents,
Earlier today, there was a brief incident affecting the water distribution system in our community. We want to provide you with the details of what occurred and reassure you of the actions taken to address the situation.
A portion of the water system in Filing 5 currently under construction was damaged by a pipeline contractor. While attempting to isolate the section of line impacted, the Sky Ranch system experienced a decrease in pressures due to the opening and closing of valves to isolate the line break. It is important to note that the affected section of the pipeline was not in service, and that no water flowed through it to any customer service line.
Our team, along with Rangeview Engineers and the on-site contractor, quickly isolated the damaged pipeline section and shut off valves on either side of the break.
Rest assured, the safety and reliability of our water supply are our top priorities. We are taking the following steps to address the situation:
Isolation and Repair: The affected pipeline section was not in service, is isolated from our distribution system until construction is completed and we have performed water quality testing to assure the lines and water are safe to place into service. The line break has been isolated, and repairs will be conducted promptly.
Safety Measures: Before returning the pipeline to service, it will undergo disinfection and flushing procedures. Bacteriological samples will be collected and tested to ensure the water meets safety standards.
Ongoing Testing: We conduct monthly testing and collect bacteriological samples from multiple points in the water distribution system to proactively monitor for potential contamination.
Customer Support: If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 303-292-3456 or through our website at rangeviewmetro.org.
We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
RANGEVIEW METROPOLITAN DISTRICT
